SUMMER CRAFT FOR KIDS: PAINTED GARDEN FLOWERS
For this easy summer craft for kids we decided to place them in our vegetable garden.
We planted two different kinds of tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, strawberries, basil and mint. Our girls helped with everything from pulling weeds to moving dirt to digging, planting, and watering.
We got all the vegetables in the ground successfully….but there was still one problem. Our garden is HUGE, and everything we planted was tiny!
Enter painted garden flowers.
It will take some time before our vegetables take over the space so in the mean time we needed to come up with a solution so that it didn’t looks so bare. That’s where these pretty painted garden flowers come in! They’re incredibly simple, and perfect for kids. Especially kids who are as excited about their garden as mine are!
HOW TO MAKE PAINTED GARDEN FLOWERS

I love this…absolutely love it. Will be stopping at Michaels on my way home. THANKS FOR SHARING!
this is such a fun summer craft project. Thank you for sharing Hugs!
Hello! I’ve enjoyed all your ideas, my 4 year old daughter and I do one almost daily. She looks forward to our ‘project time’ every single day! We’ve made flowers, rainbows, windsongs, dream catchers, turtles and many many other things. These ideas are so simple, refreshing and have room for improvising on the fly! Thank for your generosity in sharing these, I’m sure many many mom’s and kids continue to have hours of fun and learning together š
What kind of plates did you use? Iām trying this with my class, but the chinet plastic plates keep cracking when I drill the holes.
Thanks!
I’m wondering the same thing!!!
This is an old guest post so unfortunately I don’t know what plastic plates were used. They are inexpensive enough to pick up a few different kinds and test them out. Or, instead of drilling a hole, you can try using Gorilla glue that dries clear. š
