If rustic decor is your style you will love this collection of Rustic Christmas Decorating Ideas!
This girl needs all the help she can get when it comes to decorating. I feel that decorating my home has always been a struggle for me.
I know what I like and I have good taste (I’d like to think I do anyhow) but when it comes to putting it all together, I always come up short.
My Christmas tree never has a theme. I put up random decorations. It’s bad. But, I totally adore the look of rustic Christmas decorations.
And maybe this year I will try to add some rustic elements to my home.
Are you wondering how I’m going to do that? I have a few tips on how to bring the rustic outdoors inside during the holidays.
Tips for Bringing the Rustic Outdoors Inside for the Holidays
Greenery – This may seem like a no-brainer but using greenery throughout your house during the holidays will give you that outdoor, rustic feel.
One thing I love to do is buy some fresh pine garland from our local farm.
I love how the pieces of pine fall in erratic directions, giving it a nice sweeping look. Although it can get a little messy, the beauty of how it looks hung from open doorways, railings and banisters will make up for it.
I love to hang fresh garland in the opening to my kitchen as well as using it as a swag along the curtains in my living room.
Branches and Twigs – if you live in the colder climate during the months of November and December there is no shortage of branches and twigs strewn about your yard after the leaves have fallen.
Grab a few twigs, pop them vase to add some texture to your Christmas decorations. You can even hang small ornaments off of them or spray them with glitter spray to spruce them up.
Texture – Burlap ribbon, knit blankets, sweater pillows, birch branches, firewood bundles and wood slices are just a ways to bring the outdoors in during the holidays.
Wood Slice Christmas Ornaments would fit in perfectly with the rustic holiday decor. Easy to make and you can customize them using FREE SVGs.
For instance, think baskets with firewood, throw blankets on the sofa, burlap ribbon on the Christmas tree. These are all ideas on how to create a warm and cozy rustic space indoors during the holidays.
