For the past few years I’ve been making advent calendars for my kids. It’s something that I enjoy doing and they look forward to it every year. (click here for 2011 and 2012) This year I’m using the same frame as last year but after being inspired by this post from Finding Home Online, I created my own version of the Burlap Ribbon Advent Calendar.
I followed the instructions from Finding Home Online on how to make the pockets out of burlap ribbon. I decided to stencil numbers on each pocket since I already had a stencil from the “25 Days until Christmas” sign you see resting on top of the frame in the photo above. (Tutorial for that sign coming soon.) In the Christmas countdown sign I used the actual numbers I cut with my Cameo so that left me with the stencil to use for this project.
Once the numbers were all dry, I hung them up on my frame and came up with 25 activities to do for the month of December leading up to Christmas. I just printed them out on a piece of card stock, cut them out and tucked one in each envelope.
Here is a list of our activities in case you need a little help planning out yours.

What a great list of activities! I am printing it right now!
This is such a cute advent calendar, Diana! I love the burlap. We do an activities advent calendar at our house, too! I love that we can have a month filled with fun things, mixed with some opportunities for giving. You have some fun ideas on your list we haven’t done. I will have to add them to our list.
