Go the extra mile with gift wrapping this Christmas season and try adding some of these cute gift wrapping embellishments to your gifts.
When it comes to gift giving during the holiday season, I always want the way I wrap gifts to leave an impression on the recipient. I don’t want to just wrap a box or throw something in a gift bag without adding a little something extra. So, I took some basic items from the new Heidi Swapp holiday collection (available at Joann Fabric and Craft Stores – supplies are limited so you better act fast) and gave them a little creative flare. I honestly did not have to do much because the collection is LOADED with beautiful items. Here’s just a small sampling of the line.
My photos don’t do it justice but there are TONS of options and each one cuter than the last. My favorites were the snowflake cutouts that came with treat bags (bags not shown). I love the shape of them and once I saw them I knew what I wanted to do. I took basic snowflake cutouts and turned them into glittery tags, perfect for gift giving.
First I punched a hole in each snowflake. Next I mixed Mod Podge Gloss with some gold glitter and some turquoise glitter (2 separate little concoctions) and brushed the snowflakes lightly around the edges with the glitter glue. I even brushed the glitter glue over the entire snowflake for some of them, just for variety sake. Once the glue was dry, I added ribbon to turn them into gift tags.
I didn’t want to stop there so I took some mini clothespins from the Heidi Swapp Holiday Collection and embellished them with the same glitter glue concoction.
Thinking this would make a fun gift, I decided to put my embellishments into a jar along with some fake snow. I hot glued a little glittery reindeer (also from the collection) on the lid and tied some ribbon around the jar.
The Heidi Swapp holiday collection ranges from cookie baking tools to holiday card kits and fun packaging, available at a variety of price points. I also used some of the cookie stamps to make some sugar cookies. What fun this was! I simply rolled out my sugar cookie dough, stamped the dough with the snow flake stamp and then cut the cookie out of the dough using a regular size mason jar cover.
All of the items in the Heidi Swapp holiday collection can be purchased either by shopping online at Joann.com or by visiting your local Joann Fabric and Craft store. Supplies are limited so you better hurry!
