Rustic Farmhouse Decorating Ideas for Valentine’s Day
Decorating your living space for holidays throughout the year adds an element of charm and coziness to your home. Adding something as simple as splashes of colors can change the whole appearance of a room.
I’ve compiled a list of beautiful, rustic farmhouse Valentine’s Day decorations and ideas to spruce up your home during the month of February.
When my kids were smaller I enjoyed decorating our home for various holidays throughout the year. Something as simple as changing up the mantel display in our living room made such a huge difference.
Now that we just completed our home remodel, I’m excited to create a Valentine’s Day table scape in our dining room.
Our whole living space went from traditional to modern farmhouse and I can’t wait to fill all our new spaces with rustic Valentine’s Day decorations.
It’s been a couple years since I decorated for anything other than Christmas and I’m ready to get started.
Inexpensive Project Ideas for Farmhouse Valentine Decor
Now that the Christmas decorations are down, it’s time to move onto the next holiday: Valentine’s Day! If you’ve never been one to decorate for any holiday other than Christmas, this is a great place to start.
You don’t have to go all out. Start with a little bit at a time and move on from there.
One thing you’ll learn about me and most of your favorite bloggers is that we hate to pay full price for anything. With stores like Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree, you can create beautiful Valentine displays for cheap.
I absolutely love a great DIY though and thank goodness there is a wealth ideas to inspire my creativity. Here are just a few inexpensive project ideas for farmhouse valentine decor.
Free Printables
I can’t stress enough what an impact using free printables around your home can make when it comes to decorating for Valentine’s Day. With some dollar store frames and cheap prints like these free printable love signs, you have an inexpensive way to add farmhouse signs to your home.
Mason Jars
Mason jars have so many uses and using one as a vase for pretty flowers is just one of them. Fill several of them up with valentine M&Ms or candy conversation hearts and you have the cutest decor for your Valentine’s Day table. This glitter dipped glass jar idea is also a fun way to give gifts on V-day.
Banners
Add a burlap banner your fireplace mantle or any space in your home and it automatically adds rustic charm to the room. Although burlap is a favorite of mine for banners, you can use any material to make DIY Valentine’s Day garlands and banners.
Wreaths
Wreath DIYs are a favorite amongst crafters. One of the first crafts I made as a blogger was some DIY Valentine’s Day wreaths. You can easily pick up all the supplies you need from your local dollar store. Think outside the box when it comes to making wreaths.
Foam wreath forms are typically a first choice but an embroidery hoop or wood rings with some pretty hearts or faux flowers is an adorable idea.
Wall Art
Something as simple as a frame and free printable sign and boom, instant room makeover. Head to your neighborhood thrift shop and I’m sure you can find an abundance of old frames for cheap.
Old Books
I absolutely love decorating with old books. The best part is that you can pick them up for literal pennies while out thrifting. The spring and summer is the perfect time of the year to collect old books while visiting yard sales in your area. Adding them to your mantle or shelf throughout the year is the perfect way add rustic charm to your mantle or bookshelves.
Fairy Lights
I’m so happy that fairy lights are a thing. They are a great addition to a Valentine’s day mantel and bonus points because they are so cheap on Amazon. Not to mention they come with watch batteries and are ready to out right out of the box.
