HOW TO DOWNLOAD FREE FILES FROM THE GIRL CREATIVE
PLEASE NOTE: The files download to the SAME LOCATION on your computer regardless if you download via the shop, a subscribe form in a blog post or our rolling subscriber freebies page – also known to our subscribers as the Make it Monday SVG Collection and the Freebie Friday Printable Collection.
These instructions only apply to downloading files from a laptop or PC. They DO NOT apply to downloading files from your iPhone or Tablet.
We love sharing free designs and printables here at The Girl Creative. What we don’t love is when our readers run into issues downloading all the freebies. This post is going to explain How to Download Free Files from The Girl Creative.
There are 3 different ways to download free SVGs and printables. I’m not going to explain all the whys behind it but after reading this post, you should be able to download any freebie from my site without issue.
1.) DOWNLOAD FREE SVG FILES VIA THE SHOP
This is a new change as of October 2024 and I think it’s probably the most exciting change yet!
NEW!!!!! You no longer have to go through the checkout process to download FREE SVGs or Printables from the design shop.
Step One: Click on any free SVG item in the shop and the product page will open.
Step Two: Click on the DOWNLOAD button.
Step Three: The files will automatically download into the “DOWNLOAD” folder on your computer. If you’re using Google Chrome you’ll see this little arrow at the top indicating that the download was successful. IMPORTANT NOTE: You can either “click that arrow” on the top right side of your browser after the download begins or you can go right to your “DOWNLOADS” folder on your computer and find it there. **You will need to extract/unzip the files prior to use.
2.) DOWNLOAD FREE FILES VIA SUBSCRIBE FORM IN A BLOG POST
This is the second way to download free designs from The Girl Creative and it’s via a subscribe form within a blog post.
While I’m still updating some older posts with this method, you should look for a subscribe form that shows an image of the design you’re downloading. Any other subscribe form will not give you the free design. So, if you don’t see the image, then you’re most likely not using the correct form. See screenshot below for reference.
After you enter your first name and email address you’ll click the “FREE DOWNLOAD” button. Side Note: sometimes the button might say “Subscribe and Download“.
Your files will now be located in the “DOWNLOADS” folder on your computer and you will need to extract/unzip them before usage.
3.) DOWNLOAD FREE DESIGNS FROM OUR ROLLING FREEBIE LIBRARY
We have 2 rolling freebie libraries on The Girl Creative. One is for Free Commercial Use SVGs and the other is for Free Printables (personal use only). Once upon a time these were password protected pages for our subscribers only. Now they are open to the public and are promoted via social media or newsletter when new designs are added.
To download free designs from either page, you will scroll pretty far down the post until you see the designs. They are all numbered but they aren’t in category order so you just scroll until you see something you want to download and click the DOWNLOAD button.
As always, the designs will be located in the “DOWNLOADS” folder on your computer.
