This quote isn’t new. I’m sure you’ve seen it around before. I have too. I wanted to create my own version of it to share because these last few months I’m really feeling this quote.
Of course it’s a reminder to us all to be kind and to be generous with it. I can say it’s just a reminder for kids because let’s face it, kids can be mean sometimes. The truth is it’s not just a reminder for kids. It’s a reminder for adults as well.
Be Kind. Everyone is Fighting a Hard Battle
Just recently my son has been going through some things at school. Because of his struggles I feel it has somewhat put a target on his back. He’s not being bullied by any means. I’d even go as far as saying that a lot of it is probably just normal kid stuff but to sensitive child like mine, it feels personal.
All of this had me thinking. We really do need more kindness in this world. And we as parents need to be teaching our kids how to be kind from early on. After working in an elementary school for a few years now I’m realizing more now than ever that these lessons need to begin at home.
I’m so thankful for our neighbor, Kelly, who has taught her daughter, Jordyn, to be kind. My son had a rough afternoon recently and she stopped by to see if he was okay and it seriously melted my heart.

How to Make a Custom T-shirt Using My Silhouette Cameo
Step 1: Open up Silhouette Studio software and upload SVG Design
Step 2: Cut out design in HTV colors of your choice. (Be sure to mirror image BEFORE cutting).
Step 3: Weed excess vinyl and discard, leaving just the design you want to press on the heat transfer vinyl backing.
Step 4: Press design onto shirt according to package instructions.
Side Note: No matter how many projects I do, I always read the package instructions before ironing my htv design to the medium (shirt, tote bag, etc.) I’m using.
