A few days ago I was browing around on the Better Homes and Gardens website and I came across this really cute front door banner that said “Autumn”. The letters were made out of what looked like coffee beans maybe and/or buttons and it was just really cute. It got me in the crafy mood so I decided that my door needed a little something extra besides the simple wreath I had hanging on it.
Not having any coffee beans or extra buttons kicking around and not wanting to subject myself to taking the girls to the supermarket or Hobby Lobby with me to go purchase them spend any money, I decided to use what I had on hand: scrapbook paper, jute, sticky dots, distress ink, a hole punch and my Cricut.
Basically all I did was take a few coordinating pieces of 12×12 scrapbook paper and cut them in 4’s giving me equal squares. I took my distress ink and distressed the edges. Using my Cricut and the Opposites Attract Cart I cut out letters to spell “WELCOME”. I stuck each letter onto its own piece of paper, punched 2 holes up top and threaded my jute through it. And lastly I hung it on my front door right under the wreath I had thrown up there a few weeks ago. I don’t have a before picture (surprise, surprise!!) of the door with just the wreath but adding the welcome sign gave it just the right touch. š

wow! This is pretty cool! I love banners & am thinking about making a reversible one so it’s easy to switch out during the holidays. I just got some really cool, pearlized scrapbook paper & need an excuse to use it!
I would love to have this linked up to my first ever link partyHooray for the Holidays!
That’s really cute, and a super simple way to dress up the front door!
This came out nice!
It adds the extra punch needed to make your wreath feel like a real Autumny Welcome To Our Home feel. Very creative and special.
When it comes to a front door, Simplicity is what I love. Well done. tami
